Requirements

  • Professional accountancy (e.g., ACA, ACCA) and/or taxation (e.g., ATT, CTA) qualifications
  • 4+ years of post-qualification experience in a corporate income tax role, ideally in-house with a major financial services firm or within the financial services practice of a leading accountancy firm
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK taxation and ideally some experience with the tax regime of one or more additional European jurisdictions (e.g., the Netherlands)
  • Interested in learning a variety of tax processes and significantly broadening experience; curious around global business and tax issues
  • Strong communicator who can describe detailed problems with brevity and accuracy
  • Detail-oriented and analytical with a “can-do” attitude when resolving issues
  • Able to work proactively and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced with automating tax preparation processes; able to identify and reduce process inefficiencies
  • Knowledge of transaction taxes such as UK stamp duty and European Financial Transaction Taxes (plus)
  • General understanding of FATCA/CRS/CBCR regimes (plus)
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Managing Corporate Income Tax (CIT) compliance and reporting, and related advisory projects for UK, Dutch, and other EMEA entities (initially focused on CIT, likely expanding to other taxes and jurisdictions)
  • Working alongside team members and external providers to manage end-to-end compliance and reporting processes, including financial statement disclosures and finalisation of tax returns
  • Providing support to the firm in answering CIT-related questions
  • Ongoing reviewing of tax changes to help identify potential impacts to the firm
  • Working closely with the global Tax team to provide comprehensive and coordinated tax advice to the firm
  • Updating documentation and internal records as tax law and departmental processes evolve
  • Conducting transfer pricing (TP) study report reviews, master file notification filings, and submissions
  • Assisting in the UK Senior Accounting Officer Regime compliance processes, including maintaining control documentation and recommending ways to improve and automate processes
  • Completing CBCR/FATCA/CRS and other tax compliance filings
