Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, especially in commercial fleets (Class 6–8 trucks and trailers)
  • Experience with model-based development tools (MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Proficiency in AWS or other cloud platforms and IoT architectures
  • Experience with sensor integration, hardware/software co-design, and validation

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end system architectures for truck and trailer tire monitoring systems
  • Define and document system-level performance, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements aligned with fleet use cases
  • Collaborate with product managers, algorithm teams, hardware engineers, and fleet customers to translate operational needs into scalable solutions
  • Design and integrate tire-mounted sensors, trailer-mounted gateways, and vehicle telematics devices
  • Ensure interoperability across tractors and trailers, including mixed-fleet and retrofit scenarios
  • Support vehicle validation and interface with SAE J1939 / CAN protocols as needed
  • Develop test strategies for on-vehicle and bench testing of tire monitoring and alerting systems
  • Execute field testing with fleets to verify sensor accuracy, cloud connectivity, and alert logic
  • Support troubleshooting during fleet trials and early-stage deployments
  • Leverage AWS-based platforms to enable real-time data collection, health scoring, and remote diagnostics
  • Work closely with data engineers to define API interactions, data models, and over-the-air (OTA) communication paths
  • Create and maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams, interface definitions, and test reports
  • Support compliance to industry standards and fleet safety regulations (e.g., FMCSA, 49 CFR 393.52)
