Requirements

Candidates must possess a B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline or Computer Science, along with experience in Vehicle Dynamics, Motion Planning, or Perception. Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assist Systems, Autonomous Vehicles, or Vehicle Controls is necessary, as well as experience with hazard analysis techniques such as Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and System Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA). Strong written and communication skills are essential, and a collaborative team player mindset is required.

Responsibilities

The Collision Avoidance Systems Engineer will perform system and subsystem level hazard analysis to identify potential safety issues that may affect the vehicle's performance or reliability. They will develop performance requirements for traffic conflict scenarios and decompose requirements into the system architecture in collaboration with partner teams. The engineer will define Feature Roadmaps with partner teams to support development milestones and assist in the development of validation methods and tools based on real-world driving and simulation.
