Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day activities of Insurance Coordinators, providing direction, support, guidance, training, and ensuring performance standards and customer service levels are met
  • Facilitate execution of the Insurance Coordinator program for insurance preservation of dialysis patients, including patient education and enrollment
  • Address and investigate escalated issues and complex problems, contributing to problem resolution
  • Review and audit Insurance Coordinators' database reports and monthly reports for compliance, productivity, education, enrollment, AKF assistance, and Indigent waiver approval
  • Coordinate and provide monthly Insurance Coordinator database reports for the region, communicate results, and escalate concerns to IC Manager
  • Ensure accuracy of reports by comparing with effective insurance reports, resolve discrepancies, and provide counseling/training as needed
  • Monitor and ensure accurate tracking of Coordination of Benefit periods and process Medicare applications 90 days prior to the 30-month period ending
  • Monitor patients within 6-month window of 65th birthday for additional insurance enrollment and optimal coverage
  • Provide IC Manager and Division management with documentation and follow-up for patients on status reports
  • Monitor accuracy and completion of progress notes, providing guidance to ICs
  • Compile monthly reports from IC team for Division reports and provide to IC Director in absence of IC Manager
  • Communicate company updates, regulatory/legislative updates to IC team
  • Closely monitor new Insurance Coordinators post-initial training, providing support and guidance
  • Address performance issues with ICs, provide action plans and additional training; escalate consistent issues as needed
