Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field, AND two years related experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years of Auditing experience to ISO 9001 or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with castings, machining, and fabrication processes required
  • Experience with reviewing and approving first article samples and data, material certifications and traceability
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel 25% to 50% for supplier visits & audits

Responsibilities

  • Work with Purchasing to communicate with suppliers to identify and correct quality problems
  • Support supplier quality objectives and maintain appropriate supplier and component history and records
  • Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) to provide disposition of non-conforming material in a timely and economical manner and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Work closely with receiving inspectors to monitor supplier performance and consult on measurement techniques
  • Collect, analyze, and report supplier performance data; identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop, revise, and maintain process documentation to support quality improvement
  • Measure and analyze key supplier quality performance data; make recommendations on specific opportunities to improve quality
  • Coordinate with Engineering & Purchasing teams to ensure supplier compliance with technical & contractual requirements
  • Evaluate & qualify suppliers based on their ability to meet product and scheduling requirements
  • Manage corrective action program for suppliers to ensure communication and resolution in a timely manner
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with internal and industry quality standards
