Requirements

Familiarity with customer requirements in aerospace and defense industry
Knowledge of quality procedures, systems, and best practices
Experience in quality assurance/quality control, MRB, Document Control, and Source Prep
Ability to analyze quality data (e.g., defects, scrap, escapements) and provide reports for corrective actions
Leadership skills to train, direct, and manage QC personnel
Capability to facilitate teams (e.g., AQS Team, Corrective Action Board)
Skills in investigating and resolving customer complaints, including technical responses and negotiations
Ability to evaluate and revise procedures, forecast resource requirements, and manage budgets, productivity, safety, and goals

Responsibilities

Provide overall direction, coordination, planning, and evaluation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control, MRB, Document Control, and Source Prep
Report and coordinate productivity, policies, procedures, safety, budgets, and goals for these groups
Analyze existing quality procedures and systems for compliance and develop revisions or new procedures
Evaluate procedures from other facilities for best practice deployment
Formulate quality control objectives (e.g., customer escapements, defect/scrap reduction) and coordinate with production management
Provide defect and scrap data to management for analysis and corrective actions
Monitor progress and collaborate with supervisors/managers for continual quality improvement
Facilitate/lead AQS Team, CAB Team, and other quality improvement events
Train, direct, and perform activities of QC personnel for inspection, testing, calibration, and documentation
Communicate performance expectations, coach teams, and foster a cohesive team environment
Investigate and resolve customer complaints, including technical responses, on-site visits, and negotiations
Evaluate quality department constraints and develop strategies to resolve them (e.g., backlog, inspection variability), monitoring staffing needs
