Requirements

Degree in Chemistry or any other related science or Engineering field
Minimum 8 years of experience in a quality control lab in a pharma/medical industry
Supervisory experience in overseeing a team of technicians/inspectors

Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of QC Lab associates from Finished Production Inspection team to perform inspection and testing of products to meet quality standards according to established SOPs, federal regulations, or industry standards
Monitor product quality compliance
Comply with Quality and HSE procedures when carrying out sampling, QC tests, and release
Establish Standard Operating Procedures and conditions for handling, storage, and preservation of samples for testing
Issue, conduct NCR and OOS investigations as a certified investigator, identify root cause, and determine appropriate CAPA; ensure all TW records are closed timely
Analyze testing results and the frequency and severity of product defects and quality lapses
Approve testing documentation and test records
Guide testing activities to ensure correct testing procedures, conditions, and processes are used
Maintain integrity, accuracy, and completeness of QC data and records
Meet quality objectives set by management and comply with Alcon QMS and Safety requirements
Provide direction and supervision to direct reports; conduct career dialogue and follow up on individual development plans; ensure backups for all roles and responsibilities
Plan, lead, and control all quality inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance with local SOPs, Alcon Corporate standards, and regulatory requirements
Trend, analyze, and monitor key performance indicators to ensure operational effectiveness and execute improvement opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
Implement changes including GCM change requests, SOP revisions, impact assessments, and go-live plans
Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization
Support internal and external audits and ensure closure of audit findings as required
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure operations continuity
Perform other duties as assigned by QC Lab Manager
Ensure Quality and HSE compliance as per Alcon guidelines, including zero HSE incidents
Act as Support Auditor for cross-functional audits as required
