Working and technical knowledge of Gas Distribution Department activities, including construction standards, operating and maintenance procedures, and related regulations
Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Work Management systems, spreadsheets)
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated skill in workload planning and resource allocation
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
Responsibilities
Implement work schedules to meet and exceed compliance, regulatory, and company requirements
Coordinate and schedule field work to complete workload efficiently and cost-effectively
Adhere to prescribed time frames for capital, maintenance, and compliance workload to maximize district productivity
Monitor district performance through utilization analysis, manpower utilization, workload trends, and productivity
Plan, organize, and manage Gas Distribution field workload through forecasting, staffing calculations, scheduling, and management reports
Prepare work schedules based on projected workload, resource requirements, and time frames
Ensure workplans and schedules facilitate timely and cost-effective completion of capital workload (new business, compliance, mandated work, system reliability, maintenance, construction)
Handle day-to-day scheduling of short- and long-term Gas Distribution workload
Ensure area resources are available to meet workload demands
Monitor current and future workload to maximize productivity, control costs, and meet/exceed service level agreements (SLAs)
Keep district management informed of performance results
Ensure integrity of data input into work management system and operating databases
Assist with district liaison activities with local and municipal officials; resolve customer issues
Ensure adequate inventory of materials for scheduled work
Prepare weekly and monthly workload status reports for management
Generate district work plans and schedules ensuring resource availability
Work with central office and Distribution Supervisors on contingency plans for re-balancing workload
Create, maintain, and upgrade accurate short- and long-term forecasting and staffing models
Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve planning and scheduling efficiency
Work with Compliance Coordinators to distribute district compliance and mandated program work
Ensure projects are executed and closed out timely, accurately, cost-effectively, and per company policy
Develop time and cost schedules using survey statistics and productivity information
Perform and facilitate performance discussions with employees
Provide coverage for planners and manager as needed
Ensure consistency and standardization across the service territory
