Ability to exercise independent judgment in supervision and oversight of in-house crews and contractors
Willingness to participate in supervisory on-call rotation, assigning and directing unionized internal work crews
Ability to respond to and classify reported gas leaks, serve as on-scene supervisor for outages, and ensure engineering and gas control procedures are followed
Capability to conduct effective weekly safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety procedures, standards, rules, and laws
Knowledge of Company standards, work methods, regulatory and Company work rules, procedures, labor contracts, and environmental programs, policies, rules, and regulations
Ability to monitor workload, productivity, costs, and service level agreements for internal and external crews
Skills in preparing complete, accurate, and timely work packages (including permits, dig safe authorization, drawings, and instructions)
Ability to initiate and conduct investigations for disciplinary action, resolve initial grievances, and participate in hiring panels
Regular travel to Westborough, MA required throughout the first year for training
Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision of internal, external, and on-call work crews
Oversee resources and personnel engaged in operation, maintenance, and construction of Eversource Energy gas distribution systems
Perform integrated planning, scheduling, execution of fieldwork activities, performance measurement, coaching, safety adherence, mentoring, and administrative duties
Prepare and execute maintenance and construction activities, including coordination and schedules
Communicate with customers and community officials on utility construction, operations, maintenance, and service delivery
Manage all aspects of construction field management and construction inspection for I&R Facility Construction projects in Connecticut and Massachusetts
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Scheduling, Contract Administration, other Gas Group managers, Legal, Purchasing, and field staff to ensure safe, timely, and quality work completion
Ensure compliance with environmental programs, policies, rules, and regulations; direct safety awareness and compliance initiatives; monitor safety and environmental performance of contractors
Plan, organize, and manage Gas Maintenance and Construction field workload through coordination and scheduling
Ensure safety of personnel through preventive measures and compliance enforcement
Monitor work of internal/external crews for quality of workmanship and productivity
Review and approve work-related items (e.g., as indicated in the description)
