Preferred field(s) of study: Government/Political Science, Community Engagement, J.D., M.P.A., or related field
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC
Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills
Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams
Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM and complete the entirety of the 10-week program

Responsibilities

Develop presentations to elected officials, community boards, and other stakeholders regarding progress/status of NYCEDC projects
Respond to inquiries regarding projects from elected officials and stakeholders
Design and assess engagement strategies that incorporate a diverse set of perspectives, acknowledge history and center equity
Prepare written reports/updates on project portfolios, including developing newsletter content and updating trackers
Prepare NYCEDC staff for and participate in hearings before the New York City Council
Track and research city, state and federal legislation
Prepare political stakeholder analyses
Represent NYCEDC at community and outreach events
Other duties as assigned
