Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules required
  • Ability to interpret blueprints required
  • Ability to read a tape measure required
  • Basic math aptitude
  • Certifications or prior experience using moving machinery, such as cranes, preferred
  • Must complete on-site training and demonstrate safe operation of machinery
  • Must be able to pass Welder I certification test

Responsibilities

  • Welds using a submerged arc welding machine
  • Performs a visual inspection of the machinery prior to operation
  • Measures and adjusts hydraulic arms to receive material based on diameter
  • Loads and unloads shells from the machine using the overhead crane with the proper lifting equipment (chains, plate clamps)
  • Runs welding machine within parameters using predetermined settings
  • Adjusts welding machine settings based on the thickness and type of pole being run
  • Adjusts welding machine based on auditory and visual cues
  • Stops welding machine to remove finished product, maintenance, or replace consumables
  • Safely operates CNC machinery
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance on machines
