High School diploma or G.E.D
Adhere to all facility and FMCNA policies and procedures
Work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and direction of the shift Nurse and assigned PCT-P
Complete Compliance training within 45 days of hire if working more than 160 hours
Complete a survey at the end of each rotation
Ability to perform physical demands: frequent standing, bending, heavy lifting/moving patients (up to 40 lbs. occasionally), pushing/pulling equipment (up to 15 lbs.), desk/PC work, patient interaction, travel between facilities
Tolerance for health care environment: exposure to infectious diseases, moderate noise, air temperature control

Responsibilities

Support FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values, customer service philosophy, Compliance Program, regulatory/FMS policies, Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), CQI activities, and process improvements for patient satisfaction and QEP goals
Function as part of the hemodialysis health care team providing safe/effective dialysis therapy
Set up and operate hemodialysis machines (including testing, stringing, pre-initiation safety check, pH/conductivity checks, residual chloramine/chlorine checks, prepare dialysate)
Take vital signs
Escort patients to/from scale and weigh patients
Prepare labs (spinning, packaging), draw blood cultures and labs, check blood sugars
Initiate or terminate treatments on patients with fistula or graft; cannulate fistula/graft
Post-treatment: empty dialysis circuit, remove needles, hold sites, check sites/apply bandages
Surface disinfect stations/machines; internal heat/chemical disinfect machines; check for residual disinfectant
Hand crank in emergency; mix bleach water
Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
