Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university
  • Current certification by the NSCA as a CSCS or by the CSCCA as a SCCC (required prior to starting)
  • Minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience (independently developing and executing task- and environment-specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of athletes or DoD/DHS/DOJ entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal; internships or graduate work up to one year may count with approval)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or CPR certification with AED certification (must display American Heart Association or American Red Cross emblem; web-based classes do not qualify)
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to undergo Tier 1 government background investigation/check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for Common Access Card (CAC) issuance
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and effectively communicate with Soldiers and leadership
  • Sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills, and social sensitivity to relate to a variety of Soldiers

Responsibilities

  • Establish and administer effective strength and conditioning training programs to maximize physical performance and reduce musculoskeletal injury risk
  • Support optimization of individuals’ and units’ physical readiness and ability to perform warrior tasks and battle drills for the Brigade-based multi-disciplinary team’s mission
  • Develop comprehensive, periodized education and services programs integrated and synchronized with Brigade (BDE) and Battalion (BN) training calendars
