Requirements

  • Motivated, growth-oriented professional able to lead multi-disciplined project teams from planning and conceptual design through final design, permitting, construction, and closeout
  • Strong experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing urban stormwater solutions, including flood risk mitigation, stormwater conveyance, stormwater quality, and programmatic funding
  • Experience developing permitting strategies and identifying critical permit requirements
  • Familiarity with local and federal regulations
  • Experience providing engineering and environmental permitting support on stormwater and flood resiliency-related projects (experience with water resources, wastewater, and drinking water applications valuable)
  • Technically focused individual able to direct and collaborate with junior, mid-, and senior-level staff
  • Ability to support marketing and proposal efforts
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of time with clients in CA and occasional travel within the US

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for all sizes of projects, working alongside Project Manager(s) to lead technical delivery of project tasks
  • Lead detailed design projects, including creation of contract documents (plan sets and specifications), hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, report writing, and other activities to support planning, design, and construction services for stormwater management facilities
  • Lead application of 1D and 2D hydraulic and hydrologic modeling systems in urban settings at local and watershed levels to support planning and design of infrastructure (pipelines, open channels, pump stations, channel stabilization, storage and treatment facilities, multi-benefit facilities, conveyance measures)
  • Determine overall technical and permitting approach for projects
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and training programs to internal and external clients and professionals
  • Mentor staff and support clients
  • Participate in delivery system improvement programs and lead Practice initiatives
