This is a 100% remote role for candidates based in the United States or Canada, though candidates willing to work regularly from the New York City office are preferred.

This is a wide-ranging, generalist role on the Athletic’s Visuals and Data team, part of a global newsroom with 500+ full-time staff delivering in-depth sports coverage.
Strong candidates have experience in data visualization, statistics, and engineering, with a track record of publishing compelling visualizations, building interactive projects, collaborating with journalists, and using design tools, plus a creative eye for sports stories.
