Requirements

At least 6 years of experience building complex Android applications
Proficiency in programming in Kotlin
Experience managing large codebases and maintaining clean, structured code
Skills in performance optimization for large, complex applications
Ability to design applications with scalability in mind
Strong knowledge of software engineering collaboration best practices and design patterns including MVVM, Coordinator, one-way data flow, and modular architecture
Experience with Architecture at scale and working with different tech stacks outside of mobile
Well-built technical experience that inspires individual contributors' creativity and innovation
Experience with product leadership and technical decision-making, including tradeoffs between product and code
Experience working closely with various levels of business stakeholders, from C-suite and VP level down
Ability to jump into code at a deep level and contribute to long-term initiatives by mentoring the team
Strong practical knowledge of software engineering best practices, performance optimization, and metrics

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with a cross-functional, cross-timezone team to improve the Grindr app for users
Work across multiple work streams and use ambiguity for high-level thinking
Create innovation by guiding data-driven decisions to adopt new technologies, architectures, and workflows
Elevate the team's technical proficiency and help adopt new tools and ways of working
Build Android applications
Take ownership and implement change across the organization
Mentor the team on long-term initiatives
