Candidates should have extensive experience in the full feature development lifecycle, including working with product managers, defining scope, designing database schemas, considering serving needs, collaborating with designers on UX, implementing interfaces, and maintaining features/systems. A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience is required, with expertise in Python development and strong experience in NodeJS and Typescript. Proficiency in relational database design is essential. Experience with Dagster and/or Airflow is preferred, as is experience designing, building, and launching backend architectures.
The Staff Software Engineer will serve as a Technical Lead on product engineering teams, contributing to a unified claims platform and collaborating with data science and data engineering teams to build scalable web applications. Responsibilities include building and maintaining the backend REST server for machine learning and BI data, owning the entire lifecycle of enterprise application design, development, and launch, and working on greenfield projects with high ownership. The role involves direct collaboration with product heads, data science teams, UX designers, and end-users, and playing a key role in shaping product technology choices and roadmaps. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical expertise, introduce best practices, drive consistency, prioritize features, and continuously learn in the engineering space focusing on business problems involving large-scale datasets.
