Requirements

Expertise in system design and technical planning for large, complex, cross-functional initiatives
Ability to partner on architectural decisions for critical systems, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with long-term vision
Experience defining and implementing engineering standards, patterns, and best practices for scalability, reliability, and developer productivity
Skill in making strategic trade-offs between technical debt, feature delivery, and system reliability, with clear communication
Proficiency in designing and building high-performance, distributed systems including data pipelines, APIs, and microservices for healthcare data at scale
Expertise in architecting intuitive, responsive web applications and internal tools
Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across distributed services, cloud infrastructure, and frontend applications
Deep expertise in backend service design (RESTful and event-driven architectures) and modern frontend frameworks
Ability to champion security best practices, data consistency patterns, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOC2)
Experience partnering with product, operations, and design leadership to align engineering with priorities
Capability to act as technical advisor, influencing technical discussions and translating business requirements into strategies
Skills in mentorship for engineers at various levels, fostering engineering culture, conducting design/code reviews, and modeling leadership principles

Responsibilities

Drive system design and technical planning for projects, including large, complex, cross-functional initiatives

Act as technical advisor to multiple teams on design, technology, and implementation
Influence technical discussions, navigate challenges, and represent engineering in strategic planning
