Position Overview

LaunchDarkly is seeking a seasoned Product Designer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Feature Management and Enterprise product areas. This position offers the opportunity to lead the end-to-end user experience strategy for foundational and high-impact aspects of the LaunchDarkly platform.

You will work on complex workflows and interaction patterns within Feature Management, which is core to LaunchDarkly's platform, enabling real-time control and iteration of feature rollouts for teams of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. Concurrently, you will enhance our Enterprise experience, focusing on critical capabilities such as permissions, user management, integrations, and approvals, ensuring these advanced features are both powerful and user-friendly for organizations with complex governance needs.

This role is ideal for a designer who excels at systems thinking, enjoys simplifying complexity, and is passionate about influencing a platform used by thousands of developers globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of end-to-end user experiences, from discovery through delivery and iteration, for both feature management and enterprise expansion.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define and shape product strategy with a clear design point of view.
• Translate complex, technical problem spaces into intuitive, testable UX patterns.
• Conduct and apply user research, usability testing, and data insights to inform design decisions and product strategy.
• Deliver high-quality design artifacts, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals, balancing user needs with technical feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineering and product partners to ensure high-quality implementation and tight iteration loops.
• Engage in design critiques and independent reviews with other designers to maintain platform consistency and contribute to our design system.
• Advocate for feature management and enterprise user needs in platform-wide discussions and initiatives, acting as the trusted voice of the user.
• Mentor other designers and help elevate the standard of UX design craft and thinking.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Product Designer, preferably in technology-forward Enterprise SaaS software.
• Proficiency with Figma and other modern design tools.
• A portfolio showcasing shipped work that demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, user-centered design processes, and impactful outcomes, ideally focusing on both Administrator and Developer personas.
• While expertise in all design skills is not expected, strength in at least two or three areas is required, with competence in the remaining areas.
• Demonstrated ability to be a lifelong learner, continuously seeking growth and improvement in your craft.
• Capability to autonomously manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong storytelling and presentation skills for design work.
