Requirements

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing and prototyping environment developing/improving processes, running prototype builds, specifying equipment, and overseeing equipment rollout and buyoff
  • Ability to manage product development work with a focus on prototyping efforts
  • Proven track record of developing and launching production processes with a strong OEE
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial); MS in Engineering preferred
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and analysis of quality issues
  • Experience with industrial automation (Robot/PLC programming is a plus)
  • Strong project management experience and an eye for detail and organization

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Operations and Engineering teams to develop new products from the requirements stage all the way through full production ramp
  • Design the processes for assembling products and work with equipment vendors, integrators, and contract manufacturers
  • Travel to equipment vendors to audit their capabilities and buyoff on equipment before shipment (FAT)
  • Travel to contract manufacturers to setup processes, perform SATs with equipment vendors, and solve issues that come up during and after production ramp
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality and Global Supply Management teams to ensure successful ramp for capacity, quality, and cost through identification of process improvements and root cause analyses
  • Work closely with the manufacturing test organization to integrate and deploy world class test equipment and data flows into manufacturing lines at partner sites
  • Travel required, estimated at 20% average with heavier demands during equipment buy-off and production ramp
  • Develop process documentation (process flows, PFMEAs, cycle time charts, work instructions etc.) to share both internally and externally
  • Utilize SPC to perform DOEs and analyze data in JMP or other statistical software
