Requirements
- Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing the pharmacy team
- Be accountable for management, oversight, and operation of all aspects within the pharmacy
- Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap
- Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
- Follow and direct the pharmacy team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs
- Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Responsibilities
- Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching, consistent follow-up of pharmacy team members, and providing feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team, demonstrating compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance and/or medication issues
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
- Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the pharmacy team on all inventory best practices, with a special focus on protecting cold chain products
- Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues or concerns as needed
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; support the Pharmacy Manager by writing the pharmacy schedule if directed
- Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide such services
