Responsibilities

  • Live CVS Health's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
  • Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
  • Support pharmacy operations by writing the schedule if directed and contributing to a safe, inclusive team dynamic
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and support patients through clinical care services like testing and prescribing where permissible
