Requirements
- Passion for transforming health care and demonstrating genuine care for patients
- Ability to take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts
- Knowledge of safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, pharmacy workflow procedures, and safety guardrails
- Skills in coaching and providing feedback to pharmacy team members
- Ability to assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
- Flexibility for scheduling and business needs
- Commitment to maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs
- Compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Ability to support and deliver immunizations and clinical care services (e.g., testing and prescribing where permissible)
Responsibilities
- Live CVS Health's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members and providing performance feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
- Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
- Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
- Support pharmacy operations by writing the schedule if directed and contributing to a safe, inclusive team dynamic
- Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and support patients through clinical care services like testing and prescribing where permissible
