Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts, including coaching team members, providing feedback, and strengthening performance measures
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, with focus on cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; contribute to a safe, inclusive team dynamic; write pharmacy schedule if directed
Maintain clinical and technical skills through trainings, CMEs, and knowledge expansion
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide such services
