Candidates must have 10+ years of experience building high-impact customer-facing applications, collaborating with Product Management, UX, and Data teams. A minimum of 7 years of Rails/Ruby experience with a deep understanding of its conventions and best practices is required, along with 6+ years of React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend development experience. Additionally, 4+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and deployment pipelines, experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and query optimization, a strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns, and experience with testing frameworks and maintaining high test coverage are essential. Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers and lead technical initiatives is also necessary.
The Staff Full Stack Software Engineer will design and implement complex features and systems across the full-stack platform, leading technical initiatives from conception through deployment. They will collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Data teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and pair programming. Key responsibilities include contributing to architectural decisions, establishing technical standards, optimizing application performance, scalability, and reliability, and taking ownership of technical debt reduction. The role involves participating in technical planning, estimation, sprint commitments, contributing to engineering culture, and participating in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.
