What You Will Do

As a Staff Frontend Developer at Bridgit, you will play a foundational role in shaping the future of our frontend architecture and practices. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with designers, developers, and QA in a truly collaborative, cross-functional environment, free of silos and bureaucracy.

• Lead the modernization of our frontend stack, making strategic decisions around tooling, patterns, and design systems that enable faster, more consistent development.
• Drive the technical direction for building new features, improving performance, and refactoring legacy code.
• Help set the standards for how we build user-facing software.
• Mentor engineers, guide design discussions, and influence our long-term vision, ensuring our UI remains scalable, maintainable, and a joy to use for both customers and developers alike.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Expert-level frontend skills: Deep hands-on experience building high-quality, user-facing applications with modern JavaScript and TypeScript. Fluency in React (or similar frameworks) and understanding of how to structure large-scale frontends for long-term maintainability.
• Frontend architecture leadership: Experience designing and scaling complex UI systems. Ability to think in patterns, balance reusability with pragmatism, and clearly explain trade-offs in component design, state management, and performance optimization.
• Design system fluency: Experience shaping or evolving a design system, not just consuming one. Understanding of the importance of consistency, accessibility, and collaboration between design and engineering.
• Product-first mindset: Care about building real products for real people. Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, shaping product direction, and supporting features from design to deployment and beyond.
• Curious and future-oriented: Stay sharp on emerging frontend tools and techniques, with a particular interest in how AI and LLMs can shape the future of product.
