Requirements

Candidates should have 5-10 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role within enterprise software or infrastructure, possess a strong understanding of databases, cloud infrastructure, and containerization, and have experience with distributed systems, data replication, and high-availability architectures. Familiarity with modern application stacks and experience in selling or supporting open-source software are also required, along with hands-on experience with YugabyteDB or similar distributed SQL technologies.

Responsibilities

The Staff Engineer will research, design, implement, test, and release new database features and enhancements, writing high-quality C/C++ code and participating in code reviews. They will troubleshoot correctness, stability, and performance issues, identify and implement performance improvements in storage, transactional, and replication layers, and enhance database management operations. Responsibilities also include improving database scalability, contributing to the growth of the open-source YugabyteDB product, and helping customers succeed with the technology.
