Requirements

  • Demonstrated impact improving delivery performance at scale (DORA metrics: lead time for change, deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR)
  • Proficiency with containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud-native or private-cloud environments
  • Hands-on with IaC, Git-based CI systems, and secrets management
  • Observability experience with OTel and metrics/logs/tracing stacks (or equivalents); able to define SLOs and tune alerts for signal over noise
  • Strong Linux fundamentals, networking basics for distributed systems, scripting (Bash), and proficiency in Python
  • Proficiencies in the following would be an advantage: Experience with event streaming/workflow technologies (e.g., Kafka, Airflow, or similar). Experience with CI

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with development team, assist and support them with smooth CI/CD processes
  • Offering various solutions and infrastructures in K8s cloud for their daily work and roadmaps
  • Working vertically to improve dev-velocity in the organization by offering various tools and methods
  • Leading on observability across your team and wider eBay. This involves supporting our applications in production, setting up and maintaining logging, monitoring, and alerting, as well as guiding the team to internalise takeaways from production incidents
  • Mentoring teammates, fostering their growth through collaboration, frequent brown bag sessions, and direct support such as pair programming, both in the office and remotely
  • Improving the team’s DevOps standard processes by enhancing the quality and speed of build and deployment pipelines, proposing new tools, and refining processes
