Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (Cassandra or Redis Valkey)
- Experience with DB2 in on-premises and public cloud environments
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing database systems ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage database systems (Db2 and NoSQL) in on-premises and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability
- Deploy and manage database instances on public cloud platforms using cloud-native tools and services
- Develop and maintain scripts for database automation using Python, Ansible, or similar, and implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible Tower, or CloudFormation
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies, and provide regular reports on performance, uptime, and key metrics
- Set up and maintain database monitoring tools, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related issues
- Provide technical influence and subject matter expertise, tackling complex problems and identifying innovative solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to align database designs with application requirements
