Requirements

Candidates must possess a strong background in working with MongoDB at scale, an interest in building features with performance, accessibility, and scalability in mind, and a robust understanding of working on message queues and background jobs. Additionally, they should have a strong product sense with the ability to negotiate the right MVP and be able to write comprehensive, well-structured, and highly performant code, along with experience in monitoring and metrics gathering using tools like GCP Logs, Prometheus, and NewRelic.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Backend Engineer, the individual will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7, produce high-quality framework that is thoroughly tested, code reviewed, and resilient, and improve upon developer productivity. They will provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and cross-team critical projects, mentor junior engineers, and maintain a positive team culture. Furthermore, they will scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying relevant design patterns, deliver business impact through fast iteration, provide objective and helpful quarterly performance feedback for engineers, impact customer metrics, become the recognized subject matter expert for their team’s technical roadmap, demonstrate strong productivity, deliver high-quality implementations, and achieve alignment with cross-team stakeholders for squad planning.
