The CrowdStrike Malware Research Center (MRC) is the core of Falcon’s malware detection and response capabilities. The team focuses on understanding the threat landscape and guiding Falcon’s detection strategies. They are also responsible for understanding the effectiveness of Falcon’s machine learning and behavioral protection capabilities against emerging threats. The MRC performs pathfinding research, utilizing innovation and bleeding-edge machine learning to support the Falcon product.
The Threat Research team leads the charge in understanding malware activity. The team’s primary role is to analyze relevant threats and techniques used in malware targeting customer businesses. Due to the scale of malware, the approach is creative and focuses on individual samples, leveraging automation and machine learning to allow analysts to focus on new learnings.
