Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Target Merchants and Product Design and Development to turn ideas into merchandise for stores and online channels
  • Partner with overseas and western hemisphere sourcing as well as external suppliers to deliver high-quality, trend-right merchandise at great value
  • Drive sourcing strategies that align with strategic business goals and category needs
  • Utilize advanced negotiating skills to help achieve Target's financial plans
  • Build and present costing and profitability scenarios and options to business and design teams
  • Develop and manage a supplier matrix strategy that achieves global balance, optimal performance, and delivers on cost, quality, and responsible sourcing expectations
  • Apply knowledge of supply chain to drive success and growth of Target’s owned brands
  • Start at early stages of product development, build costing models, and track product through the production cycle from overseas shipping to import warehouses, distribution centers, and stores
  • Work closely with overseas teams to analyze macro trends and build comprehensive sourcing strategies
  • Serve as a close point-of-contact with Target team members in sourcing offices in 20 countries, supporting their work as liaisons among buyers, product developers, and overseas partners
