Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience. Strong proficiency in Java, including Java SE, Java EE, JDBC, and Hibernate, is required, along with experience in Agile methodologies and Scrum. A thorough understanding of software development and design principles, including object-oriented design and design patterns, is essential. Expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications using AWS cloud technologies such as Lambda, EC2, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, and RDS is also required.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining critical development platforms and middleware for the MyQ residential and commercial platforms. This includes serving as the primary point person for interactions with product owners and various functional teams, participating in technical assessment and scoping of code base changes, and analyzing requirements to produce software designs. The role involves working with Agile methodologies, leading and contributing to technical discussions, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and maintaining platform-specific software knowledge. Additionally, the engineer will mentor junior and senior engineers, collaborate with domain experts, lead offshore teams, and stay current on modern technologies to enhance the MyQ connectivity solution. Responsibilities also include leveraging AWS cloud technologies to build and scale middleware services, designing and implementing cloud-native solutions, driving best practices in AWS security and cost optimization, and complying with security requirements and health and safety guidelines.
