Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or other relevant field required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations/engineering, planning, logistics, inventory management, and/or customer service (experience with polymer manufacturing is a plus)
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and supply chain principles
Attentive to detail for accurate data entry, schedule maintenance, and inventory tracking
Strong organizational and multitasking ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions to production challenges
Experience with scheduling software and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis
Excellent project team membership and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk/hear frequently; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 10 pounds; specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus)
Ability to work in moderate noise office environment, hybrid schedule eligible; occasional work in operating units requiring PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection), exposure to outside elements, stairs/elevators; 10% travel (air or auto)
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales orders, customer demand, manufacturing capacity, and inventory targets
Work closely with Sales and Business Management to maintain inventory at optimal levels and develop options for adjusting targets as needed
Act as a liaison between Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, and other groups to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflows
Assess requested changes in customer demand and provide feedback on product availability
Identify opportunities for improvement in order fulfillment, inventory management, and scheduling optimization
Analyze production schedules and customer demand to set economic run lengths for production assets
Provide regular status updates on production schedules and project timelines to management and other affected departments
Serve as backup for other Planners as assigned, including vacation relief
Respond to after normal working hour calls concerning production schedule, production orders, and customer order commitments
Update and maintain the production schedule; interact with manufacturing, sales, and logistics for supply chain management; respond to availability inquiries; manage production and inventory; provide input for raw material planning; respond to production schedule inquiries; support the S&OP process; participate in projects and other tasks as assigned
