Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in PHP development. Strong experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony is required, as well as familiarity with AWS services including Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Experience with Javascript features and API design is also necessary.
As a Senior PHP Engineer, you will develop new functionality and enhance backend systems to power Help Scout’s web application, collaborating with frontend, backend, and product teams. You will improve performance, reliability, and maintainability across systems, triage and resolve engineering support requests, and contribute to automated testing pipelines while ensuring seamless API design and integration.
