Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience in a full-time engineering role, with a deep command of PHP 8, CSS, and HTML. Experience building responsive front-ends for the web and proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks like React and TypeScript are required. A good understanding of modern design patterns and familiarity with asynchronous messaging mechanisms such as Kafka are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will write, review, and maintain code primarily in PHP 8, HTML, CSS, React, and TypeScript. They will use a custom PHP framework to create new MVC pages, asynchronous background jobs, and API endpoints, augmenting PHP output with responsive React components. Responsibilities include creating responsive and accessible web front-ends with a mobile-first mindset, writing PHPUnit or Codeception tests, designing and building highly-scaled backend services, and collaborating with other engineers on distributed system design. The role involves building clean, testable, and maintainable code, driving code quality improvements, identifying and fixing issues to enhance scalability and performance, and leading initiatives in collaboration with Product Management, Data Science, Design, Engineering, and Research teams.
