Requirements

Technical expertise in Microbiology Laboratory operations
Knowledge of ISO and FDA quality regulations
Experience with laboratory equipment validation and test method implementation
Ability to coordinate and manage external vendor equipment qualifications
Skills in designing, supervising, and conducting laboratory experiments and testing of raw materials
Proficiency in documentation, including reports, protocols, specifications, procedures, project schedules, CO’s, DDA’s, NCMR’s, CEA’s
Capability to halt production or quarantine product when integrity is compromised
Experience providing work direction and project management to technicians

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a respectful work environment by listening, seeking facts, managing reactions, and addressing unacceptable behavior
Ensure accountability for laboratory personnel safety, quality, and on-time delivery
Support lab staff in understanding company policies and practices
Communicate daily with lab staff on performance, initiatives, policy changes, safety, and quality
Ensure adherence to all ISO and FDA quality regulations
Develop and maintain quality management policies and procedures compliant with audits
Identify process problems and support lab personnel
Design, supervise, and conduct laboratory experiments, testing of raw materials, and provide Microbiology support to manufacturing
Promote safety and ensure a safe work environment
Assist Manager in creating continuous improvement techniques, tools, and strategies
Assist Manager in establishing department goals and objectives
Ensure laboratory equipment validation and implementation of test methods
Coordinate and manage external vendor equipment qualifications, including protocols, reports, and approvals
Ensure correct documentation on laboratory testing and maintain all required records
Re-evaluate and upgrade laboratory procedures
Ensure training materials are updated and appropriate personnel are trained
Review laboratory documentation for accuracy per standards
Write and review reports, protocols, specifications, procedures, project schedules, CO’s, DDA’s, NCMR’s, CEA’s, and other documentation
Halt production or quarantine product when product integrity may be compromised
Provide work direction and/or project management to technicians
Provide cross-facility support in testing, supplier sharing, resource sharing, and advanced equipment troubleshooting
