Requirements

Comprehensive programming expertise to lead statistical programming teams and support clinical project teams
Ability to design, develop, and implement technical solutions for integrating, analyzing, and reporting clinical data
Experience developing collaborative relationships within GBDS, with external vendors, and cross-functional development teams
Capability to proactively plan, implement, identify issues/risks, and provide remediation strategies
Experience leading and supporting change management processes (e.g., communication, training, stakeholder engagement)
Functional management skills (if applicable), including setting objectives, managing performance, coaching, feedback, evaluation, and recruitment

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive programming leadership and support to clinical project teams and vendors, including deployment of programming strategies, standards, specifications, and programmed analysis to comply with regulatory requirements, SOPs, and work practices
Independently develop, validate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex programs and utilities in accordance with predefined specifications and standards
Lead/support the electronic submission preparation and review
Develop unambiguous and robust programming specifications (e.g., ADaM specifications)
Review key planning documents (e.g., statistical analysis plan, data presentation plan, data review plan) to align with project objectives and ensure clarity and completeness of programming assumptions and requirements; assess document robustness and impact on programming activities
Communicate proactively and effectively around issues and risks and contribute to their remediation
Identify, lead, and support opportunities to enhance processes and technology
Effectively recruit, manage, develop, evaluate, reward, motivate, and retain up to 5 direct reports, resulting in an increasing level of capabilities within GBDS (if applicable)
Conduct objective setting, performance check-ins, and year-end discussions in compliance with BMS policies; align objectives, feedback, and performance evaluation with manager (if applicable)
Meet regularly with direct reports, focusing on project updates, development needs, issue resolution, and provide real-time coaching and feedback; hold staff accountable for quality and timeliness of programming deliverables (if applicable)
