The role requires 10-12+ years of accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 public accounting experience in corporate accounting roles, and specific experience with SaaS/Software industry revenue recognition. Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and other US GAAP and IFRS requirements, SEC reporting experience, and English fluency are necessary. Proficiency with subscription revenue models, usage-based pricing structures, multi-year contract arrangements, channel partner agreements, professional services revenue recognition, and contract modifications and amendments is also required. The candidate must be located in the UK for this remote position.
The Sr. Manager, Revenue Technical Accounting will lead technical accounting analyses under US GAAP Revenue Recognition - ASC 606 for regional deals in the European region. They will partner with European Sales VPs on deal structuring and US GAAP revenue implications, providing real-time review of complex deal structures for ASC 606 compliance and guidance on revenue allocation for multi-element arrangements. The role involves supporting sales teams during contract negotiations, assessing revenue impact of non-standard terms, and reviewing/approving non-standard contract terms to ensure ASC 606 compliance. Additionally, they will support the US headquarter revenue accounting function for complex and non-recurring revenue topics during month-end close and quarterly reporting, assist with audit-related tasks, and manage key stakeholder relationships with European Sales VPs, the US-based technical accounting team, the global revenue team, and external auditors. Success factors include maintaining consistent application of US GAAP across regional deals, ensuring efficient deal closure while maintaining compliance, building scalable revenue processes aligned with US GAAP, and supporting regional growth while managing revenue recognition risk.
