Requirements

  • Working in collaboration with eBay Ventures team, conduct research and actively source and screen innovative businesses relevant to eBay, and together proceed to various assessments of these businesses
  • Manage an efficient evaluation and tracking process, including outside-in assessment, due diligence and financial modelling - where required supported by the legal and other eBay teams
  • Create all necessary materials/memos for investment consideration, review, and governance, incl. all necessary documents for the Investment Committee to make an investment decision
  • Help prepare updates to executives and key stakeholders on the overall health of the portfolio
  • Help manage relationship with eBay Ventures partners, including financial investors
  • Represent eBay Ventures externally at industry events, founder meetups, and ecosystem gatherings; help create thought-leadership content and support the design and delivery of events and community-building initiatives
  • Work closely with portfolio companies to accelerate their success, including identifying and driving commercialization opportunities in partnership with eBay teams
  • Maintain and enhance [relationships or processes, as implied by the incomplete description]

Responsibilities

  • Drive the full lifecycle of eBay’s venture investment program, from sourcing and evaluating breakthrough startups to supporting commercial collaboration opportunities between portfolio companies and eBay’s global teams
  • Act as a core partner to the Head of eBay Ventures and an important representative of eBay within the broader entrepreneurial and venture capital community
  • Actively engage with founders, investors, and ecosystem partners
  • Work cross-functionally with leaders across eBay to translate strategic priorities into high-impact venture investments
  • Combine strategic thinking, investment rigor, and entrepreneurial energy to help build a portfolio that accelerates innovation for millions of buyers and sellers worldwide
