Requirements

Expert knowledge and proficiency in the complete software development process
Proficiency in software languages such as JAVA, C, C++, C#, and Python
Strong grasp of OOP, data structures, concurrency, and design patterns
Experience developing and maintaining databases, JDBC, RESTful and SOAP-based web services, ensuring high performance and security
Ability to architect and implement microservices and SOA-based solutions using frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Jakarta EE
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) at least at a knowledge level
Experience with API gateways, message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and enterprise integration patterns
Adherence to FDA-compliant Design Control procedures
Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and isolate software problems, providing strategic solutions, analysis, and contributing to process/design improvements

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evaluate software using languages such as JAVA, C, C++, C#, and Python
Assist in preparing software design requirements and specifications in accordance with Abbott's design development process
Evaluate selected designs through testing and documentation, addressing problems of moderate scope
Participate in software development, verification, and validation activities under guidance
Demonstrate proficiency in software implementation
Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable software using Java
Develop and maintain database, JDBC, RESTful and SOAP-based web services
Architect and implement microservices and SOA-based solutions
Assist in the integration of internal and external systems
Participate in the end-to-end implementation of all internal and external interfaces, implementation patterns, and unit, integration, and performance testing strategy for all features in one or more subsystems
Mentor junior engineers
Participate in issue tracking and design description processes
