Security Data Engineer

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, and have at least 7 years of experience in information security engineering, with a strong focus on data security. Demonstrated expertise in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is required, along with experience in data governance and risk management frameworks. Strong knowledge of security engineering principles, architecture, and design is essential, as is the ability to interpret and enforce security policies and procedures.
The Sr. Information Security Data Engineer will assist in the execution of the Information Security Program, Data Governance practices, and Privacy assurance. They will execute effective monitoring and actionable Information Security reporting across the InfoSec technical landscape, and serve as a reliable second line-of-defense via documented processes, controls, templates, and rigorous analysis. This role will also analyze the risk of existing network and system architectures against correlating policies and risks, and provide technical input for remediation plans. Furthermore, the engineer will participate in the enforcement of ongoing practices and procedures, technical documentation, and diagrams, and assist with ensuring discretionary and regulatory audits are aligned with Illumina’s current processes and procedures, delivering activity reporting including metrics and performance indicators.
