Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A / program-finance experience, including ≥ 3 years directly supporting product-development or R&D teams
  • Or, advanced degree and 5+ years of progressive FP&A / program-finance experience, including ≥ 3 years directly supporting product-development or R&D teams
  • Work on-site at Northridge, CA office at least 3 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Own the full financial picture—OPEX, CAPEX, lifetime P&L, NPV/IRR, and unit economics—for each program
  • Build, manage, and analyze program-level business case financials for phase-gate and portfolio reviews
  • Create the annual budget, long-range plan, rolling forecasts and lead risk / opportunity assessments
  • Track, monitor, and manage spend and headcount, provide real-time variance analysis, and drive corrective-action planning with project managers
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned
  • Lead should-costing, design-to-value, make-vs-buy, and manufacturing-footprint analyses with Engineering, Sourcing, and Operations to safeguard margin goals
  • Translate technical milestones and program risks into clear financial insights for executive management reviews and updates
  • Run scenario and sensitivity models to quantify schedule, scope, and design trade-offs
  • Ensure adherence to Medtronic accounting policies, R&D capitalization rules, SOX requirements, and external audit requests
  • Conduct post-implementation financial reviews to capture lessons learned and feed future roadmaps
  • Modernize finance processes with digital dashboards, earned-value metrics, and automation tools
