Requirements

  • Deep passion and knowledge of global sport and athletes
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • At least 10 years professional experience in design and art direction within product, marketing, brand, or agency
  • Creative leadership – works with Sr. Creative Directors to inspire and guide multidisciplinary design teams through ambiguity and complexity
  • Mastery of art direction & design knowledge – deliver outstanding photography, graphic design, video content, experiences, and digital design in service of sport category, on time and within budget
  • Strategic communication – effectively applies visual skills to communicate complex ideas, aligning stakeholders with clarity and influence
  • Collaboration & influence – builds trust across cross-functional teams and external partners (photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, designers)
  • Entrepreneurial Drive – proactively identifies opportunities and drives innovation
  • Talent magnetism – helps attract, mentor, and retain top creative talent

Responsibilities

  • Team culture, leadership & growth development – mentor team members with passion for helping everyone grow, improve, succeed, and advance toward collective and individual goals
  • Elevating the craft & storytelling – responsible for consistent level of deliverables across Art & Design, constantly elevating Nike’s Design and Art Direction output
  • Support studios with hands-on creative work – encourage and lead innovative thinking, collaboration, and execution on day-to-day projects; represent creative in reviews with leadership
  • Provide inspiration for the discipline – push sport imaging, sport graphic design & sport motion into the future with regular trend reports; stay ahead of emerging trends and help set what’s next
  • Cross-functional collaboration – elevate Art Direction across all brand touch points: Retail, Digital, Media, E-commerce, Brand Voice, Styling, and geo executions
  • Industry & sport culture connectivity – demonstrate active interest and connection with the creative industry through event attendance, talent scouting, and trend leadership
  • Partner with multidisciplinary design team to set the look and feel of seasonal campaigns across design, art direction, and motion, including strategic intent, ideation, and execution
  • Set the look and feel of new brand concepts in partnership with the Sr. Creative Director
