Requirements

Candidates should possess 8+ years of industry experience, with a focus on Observability, including expertise in error tracking and distributed tracing using solutions such as Sentry, OpenTelemetry, or Jaeger. They should have experience in software development, particularly in building Kubernetes operators utilizing Python, Bash, or Go, and familiarity with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments. Experience operating within the cloud, specifically AWS and GCP, is preferred, along with a strong understanding of TDD, CI/CD, Chaos Engineering, or similar practices for infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Engineer - Observability will ensure a reliable and tested platform for application performance monitoring and distributed tracing, architect and build a large-scale observability platform leveraging Sentry and distributed tracing solutions, design and implement end-to-end tracing across microservices architectures, build, test, and deliver Kubernetes operators, participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, participate in regular retros, capacity, and planning meetings, be part of ‘lunch and learn’ demos, review new design proposals from peers, and be responsible for flexible working arrangements while maintaining transparent communication.
