Experience in diving into complex codebases requiring careful attention and puzzle-solving is necessary. Architectural and design experience in building software across multiple system layers is required, along with strong technical communication skills, including presenting, documentation, and feedback solicitation. Candidates must be excited to improve performance and user experience, take responsibility for their work, and view feedback as an opportunity to iterate. The ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team is essential. Bonus points are awarded for strong Python coding skills, comfort with kernel- or user-mode C/C++, and experience with event processing systems or message passing languages.
The Sr. Engineer, Cloud will write and maintain high-performance Go code, as well as create and maintain code generation tools that produce several programming languages. They will deploy and support data definitions across production and test clouds, solicit and integrate feedback on design proposals and user needs, and debug cross-platform and integration issues in close collaboration with other teams. The role also involves designing and writing integration and end-to-end tests, and shaping the direction and roadmap of tools and architecture. The engineer will be expected to consult on system design decisions and coordinate with other teams across the company.
