Senior Staff Electrical Component Engineer
Groq- Full Time
- Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. They should have proven experience in schematic capture and PCB design for high-reliability applications, preferably in automotive or aerospace industries. Proficiency in PCB design software, particularly KiCAD, and circuit simulation tools like LTSpice is required. Familiarity with git, CAD software such as OnShape, and strong knowledge of electronic components is essential. Experience with power supply design and testing tools such as oscilloscopes is preferred.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will own PCB design from architecture to layout in a fast-paced, iterative engineering culture. They will design architecture based on high-level requirements, select components, perform circuit simulations, and conduct schematic captures. Collaboration with Designers and Mechanical Engineers for PCB layout is expected, along with the design of multi-layer, high-speed PCBs that meet various constraints. The role includes performing signal integrity analysis and optimizing thermal management and component placement.
Develops autonomous systems for defense technology
Picogrid develops a unified platform for autonomous systems that integrates various defense technologies, including sensors, drones, and command interfaces. This platform allows for remote control and coordination of these systems, creating a more cohesive defense operation. The company primarily serves military clients, such as the U.S. Army and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, and generates revenue through federal contracts, including a significant $1 billion contract with the Pentagon and a $950 million contract for its Lander sensor platform. Picogrid differentiates itself by focusing on creating an open ecosystem for defense technology suppliers, which enhances collaboration and efficiency in military operations. The company's goal is to improve defense capabilities while expanding its manufacturing operations, with a new factory set to open in 2025 to support job creation and local economies.
