Requirements

  • Experience in telecom or data center power systems
  • Knowledge of rectifiers, battery plants, grounding, and DC distribution
  • Ability to provide technical and project-level support to internal engineering and implementation teams
  • Experience with design and implementation of DC power systems
  • Familiarity with industry standards, such as Telcordia GR-513 and NEC
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a remote environment

Responsibilities

  • Designing and reviewing DC power systems for Central Office and Core locations
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed engineering documentation
  • Evaluating and standardizing power equipment and configurations
  • Collaborating with transport, OLT, and implementation teams
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of power systems
  • Ensuring adherence to Brightspeed standards and industry codes
  • Tracking power capacity, utilization, and redundancy
  • Conducting preventive maintenance programs and power audits
  • Providing input to RFPs, vendor evaluations, and technology pilots
  • Conducting load analysis, redundancy planning, and capacity forecasting
  • Defining technical specifications and design criteria for procurement
  • Collaborating with external contract engineers and internal Brightspeed teams
  • Reviewing vendor proposals and evaluating equipment suitability
  • Requisitioning materials for procurement and tracking vendor purchase orders
  • Providing technical guidance during installation and commissioning phases
  • Conducting site surveys and audits
  • Recommending design improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and energy savings
