Senior/Principal Red Team Consultant

Position Overview

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. We are seeking a Senior/Principal Consultant to lead a team dedicated to performing Red Team activities. This role involves simulating known threat actors to help customers determine the impact and likelihood of threat actors achieving objectives across the Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK Framework. The ideal candidate will coordinate with senior leadership, plan and oversee assessment execution, and assist other CrowdStrike Services' functions to improve customer security defenses. This person will also support, manage, and mentor less experienced red team members.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for Red Team activity coordination and lead all penetration testing activities.
  • Develop comprehensive reports, including mitigation strategies, for both management and technical audiences.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels (executive leadership and technical support teams) within CrowdStrike.
  • Organize resources to perform penetration assessments of operating systems, applications, databases, and network infrastructure components to detect and enumerate threats.
  • Lead and assist in developing and improving information security programs and resources.
  • Provide guidance using specialized knowledge and toolsets to operational teams during enterprise-wide crisis scenarios (e.g., large-scale production service outages).
  • Function as both an operator and project manager on various penetration testing offerings.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Red Team/Penetration Testing activities (highly preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role (highly preferred).
  • Participation in the security community (e.g., conference speaker, tool development contributor) is highly preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Security Assessment Toolsets (Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike, Nessus, Burp Suite, etc.).
  • Comprehensive understanding of security methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Mac operating systems.
  • Advanced experience with Networking components (routers, switches, load balancers, wireless access points, etc.).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of firewalls, proxies, mail servers, and web servers.
  • Advanced experience with operational support for operating systems, applications, and networks.
  • Advanced experience with Red Teaming (vulnerability/penetration testing/adversary emulation assessments).
  • Advanced experience in automation and scripting of applications and systems.
  • Occasional travel may be required (<25%).
  • This role may require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass alcohol and/or drug test(s) during the course of employment.
