Candidates must have deep technical expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure, a strong understanding of cloud economics, architecture, and operations, and experience managing complex Azure environments. A proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across Windows and Linux systems, manage Azure networking and storage, and support containerized workloads is required. Familiarity with Azure subscription models, billing scopes, management groups, RBAC, Azure Reservations, storage tiering, resource right-sizing, Azure Monitor, Azure Automation, DSC, Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, AKS, Azure Container Instances, Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform is essential. The role demands someone highly technically competent, detail-oriented, and driven to stay current with evolving technologies.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, implement, optimize, and govern Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and cost-efficiency. Responsibilities include managing Azure subscriptions, optimizing cloud spend through Azure Reservations and Savings Plans, monitoring and analyzing Azure usage, and managing various Azure storage services. The engineer will define and implement cloud strategies, provide recommendations for architectural improvements and cost optimization, develop governance policies, and enforce best practices. They will manage and support Windows and Linux servers in hybrid and cloud environments, configure and manage Azure networking components, and collaborate with security teams to maintain robust security postures. Additionally, the role involves supporting containerized workloads, collaborating with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and IaC, and utilizing Azure Monitor for monitoring and reporting.
