Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science or Computer Science, with over 10 years of combined experience in Data Science. Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, visualization, and modeling is essential, along with experience in large-scale data processing on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks like Ray and Apache Spark, SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch), workflow orchestration platforms (Airflow), ML lifecycle management tools (MLflow), and ML Operations (model deployment, monitoring, version control) are required. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders are also necessary. Bonus points include experience in creating threat detection ML models for security products, a strong interest in cybersecurity with foundational knowledge of security research, and an understanding of different executable and non-executable file formats, as well as malware behavioral analysis on Windows/Mac/Linux and system internals.

Responsibilities

The Applied Data Scientist will build and optimize ML models for malware detection, focusing on high accuracy and precision. This role involves conducting exploratory data analysis on threat and behavioral datasets to identify patterns, performing feature engineering on malware static and behavioral data, and designing/maintaining scalable data pipelines for processing large-scale threat data feeds. Responsibilities also include establishing metrics and KPIs for measuring model effectiveness in production environments, collaborating with threat researchers and engineers to develop and deploy effective ML solutions, and conducting model evaluations across diverse threat scenarios.
